How to Cook Pierogies

Already Boiled—Ready for Your Favorite Cooking Method! Our pierogies are boiled before freezing, so there’s no need to boil them again. Simply follow your preferred cooking method below to heat and enjoy. Prefer boiled pierogies? You can prepare them that way, too!

Thaw & Pan Fry — Our Favorite!
Thaw pierogies in the refrigerator and use within 4 days. Heat butter or olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Arrange pierogies in a single layer and pan fry until golden brown on both sides and hot throughout.

Steam & Pan Fry — For the Softest Dough
Steam frozen pierogies for 4–5 minutes, then transfer to a skillet with butter or olive oil. Pan fry until golden brown on both sides and hot throughout.

One-Pan Steam & Fry
Place frozen pierogies in a single layer in a skillet with 1 tablespoon olive oil and 1 tablespoon water. Cover and cook over medium heat to steam. Remove the lid and continue cooking, turning until golden brown on both sides and hot throughout. Total cooking time: approximately 10 minutes.

Traditional Flat-Top Method with Onions
Place sliced onions and oil on the flat top, then arrange pierogies over the onions. Cover with a steaming lid and cook until the onions are tender and the pierogies are hot throughout. Remove the lid and continue cooking to your preferred browning.

Oven — From Frozen
Preheat oven to 400°F. Lightly coat frozen pierogies with olive oil or melted butter and arrange in a single layer on a greased baking sheet. Bake approximately 18–20 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden brown and hot throughout.

Air Fryer — From Frozen
Lightly toss frozen pierogies with olive oil and arrange in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook at 400°F for approximately 12–14 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden brown and hot throughout. Cook in batches to avoid overcrowding.

Make Them Your Way!
Enjoy lightly golden or extra crispy, with sautéed onions, sour cream, or your favorite toppings.
